Whilst we might not always be the cheapest, we are always competitive and we aim to give very good value for money.
With some transactions it is not possible to know how much time will be spent on them. Based on our experience we will however give you our best estimate and tell you, if the matter is to be charged according to the time spent on it, the hourly rate to be charged and the time we expect to spend. You may find that our rates compare favourably. If the transaction is likely to last a long time, we shall update you on the subject of costs on a regular basis.
Wills are, relative to their importance, still cheap to have prepared.
Following changes in the law, making some Powers of Attorney is more expensive than it used to be, but that should not put off those who need to make them. It may be better to bite the bullet now rather than wait and risk it being too late.
Residential conveyancing used to be much cheaper than it is now - in fact our conveyancing system used to be one of the cheapest in the world - but increases in stamp duty and the introduction of Home Information Packs have seen to that.
The following pages aim to provide home movers with some idea of the expenses involved in buying, selling or mortgaging a house or flat. These are expenses which we would incur on your behalf and are not part of our fees, which we like to think are quite modest in relation to the large amounts of money involved and the importance of the transaction.
